Robert Arthur Smith, 89, of Hopkinton and formerly of Holliston, passed away Sunday, November 16,
2014. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Frances (Duston) and Ernest Albert Smith. He was the husband of 68 years to the late Anita (Jones) Smith who passed away in September.

An Army Veteran, Robert was a member of the VFW and the Ozarks and a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Holliston. He was a past master of Mt. Hollis Lodge in Holliston and a past patron of the Myrtle Chapter of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed traveling, especially each year with the Ozarks.

He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Shirley Wilson and her husband Ronald of Merrimac; 4 grandchildren, Pamela Freeman, Jocelyn Wells, Alicia Budd, Benjamin Wilson as well as 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie Elizabeth Marshall who passed away in 2001 as well as his siblings, Marjorie Smith, Doris Smith Duston and Albert Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st from 5-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
