On Saturday, October 29, 2016, two weeks after her 90th birthday, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth A. Kantzer, of Wrentham, passed peacefully away.

Ruth was born on October 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Terry and Avis Carlstrom.

She is survived by her three sons, John Kantzer and his wife Marie of Peoria Arizona, David Kantzer of Foxboro, Mark Kantzer and his wife Sharon of Norfolk, seven grandchildren, Tara Henrichon of Franklin, Katrina Garippa of Foxboro, Shelley Iacavone of Cumberland RI, Jacob Kantzer of Arlington, Dean Kantzer of Arlington VA, Steven Tull of Punta Gorda FL, Amy Atwood of Dorchester and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth lived in Woodville and grew up with her sister and best friend, Miriam Eames. She was the wife of the late Reverend Lowell R. Kantzer, and, after graduating from Becker College, spent her time serving the congregation of their churches in West Springfield, Melrose and Norfolk.

Ruth was the center of her family's home; tending a large garden, hosting family dinners, holiday celebrations and caring for those around her. She loved spending time with family and friends, and her role in the church as the minister's wife.

She and her sister Miriam were known for their regular adventures to Maine, visiting LL Bean, Bridgton Maine, and Cape Cod.

In her later years, Ruth always had a smile and an “I love you” for those around her. She will be remembered for her love of family, and her constant faith in God.

Services will be held for family and friends on Friday, November 18, at 11am at the Federated Church of Norfolk, followed by a graveside service for the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville, Hopkinton.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ruth’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472
