An organization called Safewise, who works to increase home and community safety released the "Top 20 Safest Cities in Massachusetts for 2021" list and Hopkinton is ranked at the top of the list. This is the 7th year Safewise has released the list of Safest Cities in Massachusetts.
"SafeWise is happy to announce the release of its annual 100 Safest Cities in America report for 2021. Massachusetts is in the spotlight, with both the safest AND second safest cities in the country.
Hopkinton is the safest city in America with zero reported violent crime incidents and a property crime rate of 1.61 incidents per 1,000 residents in the latest reporting year. Franklin wasn't far behind--the city took 2nd place with a violent crime rate of 0.06 and a property crime rate of 1.24.
