Sally A. (Jaycox) McClean, 73

Sally A. (Jaycox) McClean, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday,
November 10, 2018 in her home in Hopkinton. Born May 21, 1945 in Poughkeepsie,
NY, she was the daughter of Claude O. Jaycox and Alice May (Hummel) Jaycox of
Poughkeepsie, NY.

Sally graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls, NY, before
attending Beaver College in Glenside, PA where she received a BS Degree in
Mathematics. On March 26, 1967, in Wappingers Falls, she married Edmund J.
McClean of Brooklyn, NY and the two shared 47 years of loving marriage before Mr.
McClean passed away in 2014. The couple raised their family in Hyde Park, NY
where she lived until moving to Hopkinton, MA in 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra M. Oberg, and her son, Jacob, of Lancaster,
NY, her son, Garrett E. McClean, his wife, Heidi, and their children Casey and Julia,
of Hopkinton and her sisters, Linda Miller of Glenmont, NY and Elaine Baller of
Fishkill, NY.

Family and friends were Sally’s passion. She was blessed with many friends who
were drawn to her humor and spirit. Sally had a lifelong love of tennis, a talent for
crafts, volunteered within her community, served on the Hyde Park Town Council,
and was a writer throughout her life. Her writing included children’s stories inspired
by her grandchildren, “odes” celebrating loved ones and milestones, and memoirs of
family history, travels and friendships. She and Ed loved to travel, fulfilling their goal
of visiting every US state and all the National Parks.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and an intimate remembrance
will be scheduled at a later date according to the family’s convenience. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for
Parkinson’s Research (, Grand Central Station, PO Box 4777,
New York, NY 10163-4777.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Callanan
