Video: Hopkinton Center for the Arts Fall 2016 Open House Highlights

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts hosted their annual fall open house. There were plenty of activities for the kids and numerous HCA instructors and volunteers who had information about the many programs available at the HCA during the fall. For the first time, the open house took place in the performance center which opened last November. View highlights of the Center for the Arts open house below.

Live 4 Evan 5K will feature Challenge Course with Prizes!

The annual Live4Evan 5k will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 9 am starting from EMC Park. As part of the post-race festivities there will be a challenge course - "Live Tough" - for kids from kindergarten through Grade 8. The course will feature a Water Slide and a Mud Pit and the first 200 registrants will get a t-shirt.

St. Paul’s Holds Sunday School Registration Sept. 11

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be hosting Sunday School registration for new and returning students at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday September 11. This year’s curriculum will be taken from the “Weaving God’s Promise” program, and will be offered to pupils ages 3 to 12 years old. All children are welcome to register for Sunday School, and they and their families are also invited to attend the Holy Eucharistic service at 10:00 a.m., and the pot-luck lunch that will follow the service. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 61 Wood Street/Rte. 135, Hopkinton.

Are you feeling the desire to help others, to give back? Volunteering offers an avenue for exercising your skills and talents and to perhaps develop some new skills. Volunteering has a positive effect on our attitudes and morale. The need to be needed is a primary motivator in our lives.

The Hopkinton Senior Center (28 Mayhew Street) offers many opportunities: Reception, Thrift Shop, Greeters, Computer Lab tutors, Lunch hosts, Waitstaff and Kitchen Assistants, outside gardening, greenhouse, special functions. We are also in need of drivers for local medical appointments.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts Open House Saturday 8/27 10-1

This Saturday's Open House promises to be one of the largest ever. Attendees will have so much to see and do. We have a number of activities for our youngest fans lined up, including our Disney Princesses and fun crafts, plus workshops and demonstrations for older students. (Full schedule below).

Video: Hillers Football Preview 2016

Hillers Football finished 6 and 5 overall last year and made their 3rd straight playoff appearance which resulted in a 28-14 loss against Duxbur. This season the Hillers will have to adapt to a new QB as Jake Kelleher is gone, new bodies on the offensive and defensive line as well as the loss of key WR Jack Vaccari and Key RB Sam Lehman.

Despite the loss of many key players, including the captaints from last year, the new captains of the team are ready to step up. HCAM news caught up with 3 of this years captains; Tim McGrath OL/DL, Isaac Stilwell RB/LB and Jimmy Adams QB.

Open Auditions for Let's Sing! Dance! Act!

The Jodi Palmieri Dance Company is expanding!

Let's Sing! Dance! Act! is holding open auditions on Sunday, August 28 from 4:00-5:00 PM at 239 South Street. The audition is for dancers age 8-17.

Dancers should prepare 90 seconds of a routine in any style. Bring music on an iPod or a similar device. No experience is needed.
