St. Paul’s Invites All to Easter Services: Guest Preacher Brian Murdoch to Officiate

HOPKINTON, MASS. (April 15, 2014) – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) invites its friends and neighbors to join in a celebration of the miracle of Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 20, led by guest celebrant Reverend Brian Murdoch. A Holy Eucharist, featuring the musicians and singers of St. Paul’s, will be held at 10:30 a.m. An Easter Egg hunt will follow the service.

Clean-Up Day at the Hawk's Nest

Spring has arrived! Mother Nature has pulled back the blanket of snow and the Hawk’s Nest Community Garden is finally visible. With that said, winter has taken its toll on the Hawk’s Nest and it needs some attention! This spring, our goal is to implement phase two of the garden project, which includes installing rain barrels, composting bins, designing a garden sculpture, purchasing tools, and year two of planting: needless to say, there is a lot of work to accomplish!

Regionally Renowned Dance Instructor Joins Hopkinton Center for the Arts

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce the addition of Ms. Nathalie Navert to its faculty. In addition to leading classes, Ms. Navert, an Upton resident, will act as the program director for the newly created dance program at the HCA. Ms. Navert debuts with the HCA this summer when she will lead a ballet program for students ages 4-14 which is being hosted at Deane School of Dance in Mendon, MA. The ballet program runs throughout July and August, with additional offerings beginning again in September 2014.

The Hopkinton High School Varsity Girls Tennis Team volleyed their way to a 5-0 shutout over Holliston behind Oliva Anderson's 6-0, 6-0 sweep. The Boys Varsity Tennis Team edged Holliston today 3-2 at home!

Hopkinton Women's Club Meet the Candidates Night

The Hopkinton Women's Club is holding its annual Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, April 30th, 2014, at 7:00 PM in the HCAM studio. We encourage townspeople to attend and ask questions of those citizens running for office in the May 19th Town Election. This year home viewers will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates live, using a phone number that will be posted on the TV screen. Also, questions can be e-mailed ahead of time or that evening to live@hcam.tv.

Tenth Annual Spring Lake and Trail Cleanup Day

The Friends of Whitehall Tenth Annual Spring Lake and Trail Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 26. Clean up starts at 9:00 AM at the Route 135 Wood Street Boat Landing and will last until 12:00 PM. Bring sun screen and work gloves. Boats are optional for island & shoreline cleanup. Food and drinks, recycling and trash bins, maps, trash bags, various tree pruning tools and can grabbers will be provided.

Friends Give $5,000 to Benefit the Renovation and Expansion of Hopkinton Public Library

Fundraising for the Library received a boost from the Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library just prior to the Library funding vote at the May 5 Town Meeting and the May 19 Town Election. With the Friends’ gift of $5,000, the amount raised by 1000 Homes for Hopkinton Library is now $280,000. In recognition of their gift, the Staff Room in the new Library will be named for the Friends.

Another W for the Lady Hillers

The Hopkinton high School Girls Varsity Team hosted the Hornets of Mansfield on Friday afternoon, beating the 4-1. The Lady Hillers remain undefeated with a 5-0 overall record. The Hillers travel next door to Holliston on Monday and hope to beat the Panthers to keep the streak alive.
