Scouting for Food on November 4th.

On November 4th, the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts of Hopkinton will be collecting food for Project Just Because Hopkinton Food Pantry to help our local residents in need. Since the first Scouting for Food drive, the number of families who rely on the food pantry in Hopkinton has risen dramatically with even more families requiring assistance year-round.

Place your items in plastic bags near your mailbox by 10 AM on Saturday, November 4th.

Items needed:
~ Gift cards to food stores
~ School snack items
~ Canned meat (tuna, chicken, spam, hash)
~ Unsalted nuts
~ Raisins/dried fruit
~ Gluten free foods
~ Hot chocolate/Ground coffee/Tea
~ Low sugar juice bottles and boxes
~ Baking items
~ Paper products
~ Laundry detergent/cleaning products
~ Toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, etc.)

***Expiration dates must be January 2018 or beyond!!***

2017 Hopkinton Hillers Golf Team Takes TVL Title!

The Hopkinton Hillers Golf team has won the TVL title. The team currently stands at 15 wins and 3 losses and is on a 7 game winning streak. The Hillers have a meet with Dedham on October 24th to finish off regular season play.

-Hillers Boys soccer defeated Bellingham on the road 4-0. Hopkinton is now 6-7-2 on the season.

-Hillers Girls soccer defeated Bellingham at home 6-0, Hopkinton scored 5 goals in the 1st half and is now 7-5-2 on the season.

-Hillers Volleyball defeated Westwood on the road by shutout and is now 14 and 2 on the season.

-Hillers Golf defeated Bellingham and Medfield in a dual meet. Hillers golf is now 13 and 3 on the season.

Town of Hopkinton Invites NBA Champion Golden State Warriors to Town!

The town of Hopkinton has officially invited the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors to town to celebrate their title. The official invite sent to Golden State Warriors Owner, Peter Guber can be found above. The Board of Selectmen agreed to invite the NBA Champions at their October 3rd meeting.

Video: Athletic Fields Sub-Committee Hosts Public Forum to Discuss Plan for Turf Fields

In October 2016, a sub-committee was formed to come up with a plan to renovate the fields at Hopkinton High School. Design work on the project began in April 2017. On Wednesday (10/18) the Athletic Fields sub-committee hosted a public forum to share their 2 phase plan for the Hopkinton High School Athletic Fields. The probable start date for construction is June 2018, the estimated cost is 3.8 million dollars. Gale Associates is the engineering firm that will be handling the project.

Gary Drowne Jr., 37

HOPKINTON - Gary Drowne Jr., 37, died October 5, 2017 at Metrowest Medical Center, Framingham after a brief illness. Born in Framingham, he was the son of Suzette (Lallier) Drowne Bukirch and the late Gary Drowne Sr.

He worked as an apartment maintenance manager.

He is survived by his sisters Tracy Drowne of Orlando, FL and Christina Drowne of Spencer, MA, his nieces Ashley Kimbar, Natalia Perez, and Mia Perez and his nephew Kaiden Hanlon.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian Joins National Law Enforcement Leaders at Summit on Crime

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian today attended the National Law Enforcement Summit on Crime, hosted by Law Enforcement Leaders to Reduce Crime & Incarceration.

Law Enforcement Leaders, established in 2015, unites nearly 200 current and former police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors and attorneys general from all 50 states focused on implementing policies and strategies that will reduce both crime and incarceration. Sheriff Koutoujian is a founding member and the only current Massachusetts law enforcement official in the group.

Hillers Sports Update 10-17-2017

-On Monday 10/16 Hillers Boys Soccer lost their senior night game 1-0 to the Nipmuc Warriors. Boys soccer is now 5-7-2 on the season.

-On Monday 10/16 Hillers Field Hockey shutout Dedham 3-0. Playoff bound, Hillers Field Hockey is now 10-2-1 on the season.

-On Monday 10/16 Hilers Volleyball shutout 2nd place Medway 3-0. Hillers Volleyball is now 13 and 2 on the season.

-On Tuesday 10/17 Hillers Golf defeated Bellingham 229-286 and Medfield 229-264. Hillers golf is now 13 and 3 overall on the season.
