Hopkinton Hillers Girls Basketball Falls Short in State Championship

On Saturday March 17th, the Hopkinton Hillers girls ended their terrific season with a loss to Foxboro in the state championship at Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA by a final score of 49 to 41.

The 2018 Hopkinton High School Honors Exhibition March 21st - April 11th

High school honors classes typically involve advanced work and high demands. In Hopkinton High School’s art department, they also feature an opportunity to have work selected for exhibition in the Lotvin Family Gallery at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts.

Moreover, students whose art is chosen are involved in producing the annual exhibition, working with faculty to prepare and install the show and to host the opening reception. This year eleven seniors and two juniors take on these challenges.

The Roasty Toasty Award Honors Hopkinton's Steve Sullivan Saturday, April 7th, 7:00 PM

Join us for a laugh-filled evening as Hopkinton’s Enter Stage Left Theater honors the many talents of Steve Sullivan with a good-natured roast and tribute.

This is a fundraising event for Enter Stage Left Theater and includes dinner – prepared by CATERING BY DANIEL - served family style (choice of chicken or beef), a cash bar, and The Roasty Toasty show.

Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased online or at the door.

Massachusetts State Senator, Karen Spilka recently talked with HCAM news. Topics included, a recent bill for capital facility repairs and improvements in the Metrowest that recently passed. The 3.65 billion dollar bond includes $2,000,000 for improvements in Hopkinton's town hall and I also asked about a recent piece of legislation passed known as the "Patch Act".

Video: School Committee Hosts Interview and Public Forum to Select Assistant Superintendent

The Hopkinton School committee hosted interviews and a public forum with the 3 finalist for the Assistant Superintendent position. The 3 candidates included: Jennifer Parson - Current Principal of Lincoln St. Elementary School in Northboro, Michael Caira - current principal of the David Mindess Elementary School in Ashland and Dr. Michael Hanna - Current Learning Leader of Stratton Elementary school in Arlington.

Update: On Friday March 16th, Hopkinton Public Schools selected Jennifer Parson to serve as the next Hopkinton Assistant Superintendent.

Hopkinton native Kayla Lewkowicz is running the Boston Marathon for the Brigham and Women's Hospital Stepping Strong Center. She hosted a night featuring beer tastings and raffle prizes at Start Line Brewing to raise money towards her fundraising goals.

-On Saturday March 10th it was the Division 2 central sectional finals, the Hopkinton Girls met up with the Medway Mustangs at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In the 1st quarter, Medway outscored Hopkinton 14-10. Olivia Gladu knocked down a 3 right at the end of the 1st quarter to give
the Hillers some momentum. The 2nd quarter was a defensive battle Hopkinton outscored Medway 9-5 and it was 19-19 heading into halftime.

School Committee Names Assistant Superintendent

Hopkinton’s Acting Superintendent, Dr. Carol Cavanaugh, is pleased to announce that, upon her recommendation, the Hopkinton School Committee has selected Ms. Jennifer Parson as the next Assistant Superintendent for the Hopkinton Public Schools.

Ms. Parson holds a CAGS in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University, as well as a Masters in Education in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Literacy, from Lesley University. Her undergraduate degree was in Elementary Education, awarded from the University of Rhode Island.
