On Monday night at 5PM, the Board of Registrars will meet at Town Hall to open the sealed absentee ballot found after the town election in May. On Friday afternoon, Town Clerk Ann Click confirmed that the judge had approved the court order allowing the ballot to be counted. But will the tie vote between library trustees June Harris and Leda Arakelian be broken?

In the event that the tie is broken, there will no longer be a "failure to elect" for the two tied candidates. In the event that the unopened ballot doesn't make a difference, the Board of Selectmen plan to interview candidates for the two open seats at their Tuesday night meeting. Word on the street is that only one of the two tied candidates has applied to be appointed should the tie remain after the sealed ballot is opened.
