Selectmen Approves Of Lee

Last night the Hopkinton Board of Selectmen voted unanimously for Detective Captain Edward Lee. a 26 year veteran of the Woonsocket RI Police force to head The Hopkinton Police Department.

The field included two Hopkinton Officers, Interim Chief Charles Wallace, Sgt. Joseph Bennett, and Lt. Thomas Lynch of the Franklin Police Department.
Twenty candidates applied for the job last fall.

Lee will now meet with Town Manager Norman Khumalo to negotiate his salary and his start date.

Lee is the second officer from Woonsocket PD to land a chiefs job recently as his former colleague, former Capt. Kenneth Paulhus, a 22-year Woonsocket PD veteran, was named chief in Southborough to replace retire Chief and Hopkinton resident Jane Moran.
