Snow Removal from Elmwood School Roof

This memo serves to inform you about the build-up of snow on the Elmwood School roof. As always we are keeping an eye on the snow loads on all school roofs in Hopkinton. The HPS Buildings and Grounds Director has been consulting with the Hopkinton building dept. Early last week the building inspector and Dir. of HPS Buildings and Grounds determined that because the snow was so light there was no cause for concern. When hearing there was another storm on the way with the potential for substantial accumulation, HPS contacted a contractor that we have used in the past to remove snow. Professional roofing crews will begin removing snow tomorrow at Elmwood.

The town building inspector will continue to work with the HPS Dir. of Buildings and Grounds to carefully inspect all roofs tomorrow and then determine if and where there will be a need for other snow removal around the district. Of course the safety of students and staff and protecting our assets are the main priority.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
