The Board of Selectmen back on Monday January 26th held a meeting to decide weather or not to hold a special town meeting regarding the land at 203 Pond Street. Todd Cestari and John Coutinho recused themselves due to individual conflicts of interest. Town Manager Norman Khumalo explained
the calendar of events if the special town meeting was voted through. Khumalo explained the deadline to register to vote for the special election will be Feb 18th, Feb 20th will be the last day to register to vote for town meeting. Tuesday March 3rd will be the special town meeting, Tuesday March 10th will be the special town election if the Board votes to purchase the parcel as a debt exclusion.

Much of the discussion was if other properties considered for open space purchases would be added to the warrant for the special town meeting to better help with budgeting. Selectmen Michelle Gates urged that if the special town meeting is going to happen that the town should be informed on all other land purchases being considered. The town manager explained there are ongoing negotiations happening for other parcels and it would take a lot of work to conclude other negotiations but mentioned "if that is the goal the Board would like to set for us, we would then need to find a way to get the job done."

At a vote of 2 to 1 The Board opened a special town meeting warrant for a special town meeting to be scheduled on March 3rd, 2015. Note: The special town meeting warrant will close ten (10) business days after publication in a local newspaper.
