The 4th Annual Auction, sponsored by St. John the Evangelist Youth Ministry, takes place this Saturday, April 28th from 6PM to 10PM in the Parish Hall. The auction is a major fundraiser for the Youth Ministry and proceeds help to raise funds for programs such as summer mission trips, leadership conferences, retreat experiences and scholarships.
Jim Flanagan, Youth Ministry Coordinator, explains that the goal of Youth Ministry is to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person, seeks to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community and gives the world a sign of God's Kingdom by challenging the young to work for justice and peace among the poor and oppressed.
"With the help of the St. John's community providing donations, purchasing raffle tickets and attending the auction, we will be able to make a significant impact doing God's work in the greater community," said Flanagan. "We thank you all for your past support fundraising efforts and hope to make this year equally successful."
The theme for this year's auction is "Wester BBQ" and the auction will include dinner and desserts, cash bar, live and silent auctions, raffles and lots of fun.
Tickets are available by dropping by the St. John the Evangelist Youth Ministry Office. Tickets purchased in advance are $15 per person and $20 per person at the door.
