Every year on the second Saturday in May, letter carriers across the country collect non-perishable food as part of the nation’s largest one-day food drive, distributing the donations to local food banks. Since the pilot drive was held in 1991, more than a billion pounds of food have been collected, and on Saturday, May 11, Hopkinton's letter carriers will be participating in the "Stamp Out Hunger" drive.

It's easy to help. All you need to do is to collect and bad non-perishable food items such as canned meats, soup, juice, pasta, or cereal and rice and place the bad by your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up.

Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
