Town of Hopkinton Seeks Temporary Park and Recreation Director - The Director will be responsible for performing a variety of professional and administrative work in planning, developing, scheduling and implementing year-round park and recreation activities. Responsibilities for ensuring effective and efficient management of office administration, to include budget and financial management; record keeping; development, implementation, promotion, and organization of recreational programming; leadership and management of regular and seasonal staffs and volunteers; and scheduling of activities to support operation and maintenance of Town parks and athletic fields. Other related responsibilities will include collaborating with other Town departments and working closely with Park & Recreation Commission and contractors. This position will report to the Park and Recreation Commission. Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with three (3) years progressively responsible experience in recreational management which includes strong knowledge of grounds maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication and strong organizational skills required; ability to work with diverse groups a must; ability to maintain effectiveness in a fast paced environment required; exceptional knowledge of community recreational needs and resources a plus.
