For 17 years, as residents enter the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, they have been greeted by a familiar face. Since 1997, Ann Click has served as the keeper of Hopkinton’s town records; birth certificates, marriage licenses, voter registrations, census information and more, and she has enjoyed every moment.

“It’s been wonderful, very rewarding,” said Click.

But Click’s name will not be on the ballot in the next town election as she has decided not to run for office again in May. The position of town clerk is a three year term and Click says that she is not willing to finish out the term.

“It’s best for the town to make the decision now,” said Click, who is looking forward to having time to enjoy her grandchildren, her home and to travel.

What she will miss is working with people and serving the residents of Hopkinton, but through her involvement with the planning for Hopkinton’s 300th anniversary, Click will have an opportunity to continue her service.
