Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Contractual Food Inspector for up to Eight Hours Per Week

Appointed by the Board of Health and under the general guidance of the Board of Health Director, the Food Protection Program Inspector is assigned to protecting the public from food borne illnesses through education, prevention, intervention and rapid response.

Qualifications – Requires the equivalent to:
1. BA/BS in Environmental Sciences or related studies and minimum of three (3) years of experience as a food protection inspector, certified food protection manager and allergen awareness training are required.
2. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with good driving record.
3. Knowledge of state, federal, and local/Town health, safety, and sanitation codes and regulations.
4. Advanced level skills with MS Office Suite; strong skill set with Excel spreadsheets.
5. Registered Sanitarian (RS or REHS/RS) or Certified Professional (CP-FS), first aid, CPR/anti-choke instructor and food protection manager instructor credentials preferred. (Must be able to obtain credentials within 1 year of hire.)
