Town of Hopkinton Seeks a FT Health Director for its Board of Health

Appointed by the Board of Health, the Health Director is responsible for promoting, directing, and enhancing the public health including disease control, promotion of sanitary conditions and protection of the environment from damage and pollution. The Health Director ensures customer service, legal compliance, board support, resource management, staff development and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in Public/Environmental Health or related field and three (3) to five (5) years experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Certifications and Licensing:
State Registered Sanitarian
Certified Health Officer
Licensed Soil Evaluator
Title 5 System Inspector
Lead Determination Inspector
Certified Food Service Manager
Certified Pool Operator National Incident Management Systems – ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700
Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of applicable state statutes, rules and regulations; public administration principles and practices; municipal government operations.
Ability to work with a high level of detail, to prioritize multiple tasks and to deal effectively with interruptions; ability to identify and analyze complex issues and to develop appropriate recommendations.
Ability to operate a computer, computer monitor, printer, typewriter, calculator, telephone, copier, facsimile machine and all other standard office equipment.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; excellent public relations skills to effectively deal with all members of the public; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and supervise the work of subordinates.
Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and project management skills.
Computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, and presentation.
Knowledgeable with the following applications: MUNIS, MAVEN, HHAN, VIPS preferred.

Position Pay Range: $60,000 to $85,000 annually dependent on qualifications
