Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Full Time (40 hours/wk) Administrative Assistant for its Land Use, Planning & Permitting Department

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Land Use, Planning & Permitting, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Land Use Department and the Community Preservation Committee. Administrative responsibilities will include but not limited to, transcribing and processing minutes for the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) meetings; maintaining CPC files; processing of invoices, budget monitoring and maintaining spreadsheets. Duties also include working on various projects, processing of permit applications, responding to questions from applicants and the public via walk-in, phone, and/or e-mail; preparing correspondence, hearing notices, and scheduling inspections. Processes incoming and outgoing mail.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to:
• Associate in Business Administration or a related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of customer service support.
• Municipal experience preferred.
• Advanced clerical training or certificate preferred.

This position will have considerable interaction with the public and the ability to handle multiple projects, meet multiple deadlines simultaneously, while managing a dual reporting structure is required.

Hiring Salary Range: Starting Rate: $20.40 hourly; Full Range up to $28.65 hourly.
