The Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Full-Time Sewer Technician for its DPW Department

This position performs work related to the installation, maintenance and repair of the public sewer collection system to commercial, residential and public properties.
The Sewer Technician not only operates heavy machinery but also performs a full range of complex tasks and works within established procedures and/or policies. At this level, the incumbent works with occasional instruction or assistance. Work involves frequent interpretation of policies, procedures and guidelines and may involve the development of recommendations consistent with directives, policies and regulations.
Qualifications - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:
• Equivalent to High School diploma and three years (all seasons) full time experience in sewer service, pipe laying, and heavy equipment operation
• Must be able to operate: greater than one ton trucks, front end loader, backhoe, plows, catch basin cleaner, sander, shovel, hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, water sampling equipment, telephone, lawn mower, weed whacker, drills, chain saw, and pipe cutting saw
• Must have or be able to obtain the following licenses: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B; Hoisting Engineer’s License; and DEP Backflow Device Tester License

Hiring Pay Range: $24.11 – $25.09 hourly
Shift: M-F, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm, on-call and overtime required
