Senate Passes Bill to Collect Vital Public Health Data, Establish a COVID-19 Diversity Task Force

On Monday, May 11, 2020, the Massachusetts State Senate passed bipartisan legislation to promote equity and transparency as the Commonwealth continues to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bill, An Act Addressing COVID-19 Data Collection and Disparities in Treatment, would increase the amount of statewide, publicly available data as it relates to the coronavirus, and establish a task force to study and make policy recommendations to address health disparities for underserved and underrepresented communities during the pandemic.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton May 4th-10th was 71.5 degrees, the lowest was 32.3 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 49.5 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 55%, the peak was 96% while the lowest was 16%. Rain accumulated 0.38 inches last week. Announcement Regarding Ashland Legion Baseball

In the announcement below from Ashland Legion Baseball General Manager, Rich Powell announced the season has been cancelled. The team may still take the field this year. Many Legion programs are working on playing independently. We will inform of any updates but the official Legion season in Massachusetts is cancelled for 2020.

Marilyn June (McKay) Armstrong, 89, died in Hopkinton, MA, on Friday, May 1, 2020 from
complications of COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s. Born in Butler, PA, on June 23, 1930, she was the
only child of the late Hildegarde E. (Zimmermann) Fredrick and Orville B. McKay. After her
father died, she moved with her mother to Sheboygan, WI, where she attended Sheboygan
High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in
Journalism. She met and married her first husband, Robert Wilvers, in Milwaukee, WI, and

Hopkinton Principal Planner Virtual Hours

The Hopkinton Principal Planner will be open for a virtual “office hours” drop-in on Tuesday 5/12/2020 from 4pm - 6pm. During this time, you may click the link or dial the phone number below, and be placed in line to discuss or review an item, or conduct business with the Town Planner’s Office as you would normally be able to do in-person at Town Hall.
