Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Part-Time (19 hours per week) Counselor for its Youth and Family Services

Are you passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families? Hopkinton is seeking a Counselor who embraces a strengths perspective to help youth and families move through challenges, build resilience, and thrive

Under the direction of the Director of Youth and Family Services, the part-time Counselor provides an array of clinical and supportive services to Hopkinton children and families, including: Parent consultation; Crisis intervention; Information about and referral to community resources, supports and services; Individual, group, and family counseling; Participation in planning and facilitation of community education events, programs and activities in response to community need; and Participation in community collaborations, committees, and coalitions in partnership with other town departments and local and regional social service organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to:
• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.
• Prior clinical experience with children and families.
• Current professional licensure (LICSW, LMHC).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply clinical theories and practices.
• Knowledge of child welfare laws and policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups to advocate on behalf of clients, to provide training to children and parents, and to collaborate with other professionals.
• Knowledge of area resources, local and state mental health and social service agencies, and their services.
• Ability to engage with diverse families in a way that conveys sensitivity and respect.

This position requires availability to work some evenings and occasional weekend hours as needed, as well as some travel.

Hiring Salary Range: $21.81 to $25.30 hourly depending on qualifications
