Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Part-Time Receptionist (up to 19 hours) for its Senior Center

Under the general supervision of the Senior Center Director, the Receptionist performs administrative and customer service work in the operating of the Senior Center. Individual performs varied and responsible duties requiring a thorough knowledge of departmental operations and the exercise of judgment and initiative in completing tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Equivalent to High School diploma and one or more years of clerical or secretarial experience.
• Ability to provide customer service that is socially pleasant, empathetic, and understanding while interacting with people experiencing challenging circumstances.
• Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously with the public, co-workers, other employees, departments, officials, and other agencies.
• Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of office procedures, practices, and terminology.
• Ability to work with a high level of detail, to prioritize multiple tasks, and to deal effectively with interruptions. Ability to change direction and rearrange tasks according to deadlines and circumstance.
• Ability to lift light medical equipment and deliver items to designated areas.
• Computer literate including experience with Microsoft office software, internet searches, and email communication.
