The Hopkinton Water Department would like to update our customers on the water main break that occurred Sunday night. Crews made Repairs to the water main in the early morning hours of Monday. After the trenches were backfilled and the roads were open, we began to flush hydrants in areas that were experiencing discoloration from the break. Please be advised that you may still see some occasional discoloration as the water moves through the system to and from the water tanks.
We ask you to please check you water before using it, especially if you are planning to do laundry. If you see persistent discoloration coming from your hot water, you may need to flush your hot water tank with the faucet located at the bottom to help clear your pipes. Crews will continue to check hydrants throughout the affected area today.
