Now is the time to recall the meaning of Patriots Day. We can do it at the Senior Center Mess Hall with its chipped beef specialty and other great chow on Friday, 4 April 2014, at or about 0900 hours. Many regulars are there before 0900 for coffee and muffins, so don't be late. Best of all there will be an environment of good friends and camaraderie. Please invite your friends who don't receive this message. If there are transportation difficulties, call Amy Beck by 2 April 2014, 508 497-9730.

Tuesday, 1 April, was the anniversary of the start of The Battle of Okinawa. Many who lived in Hopkinton took part in the largest battle in the Pacific, and the last battle of World War II. Review the dramatic history: http://hpkmam.wix.com/hopvetsonokinawa .

The Photo Gallery and Veterans Remember are up-to-date. hopkinton.wickedlocal.com/article/20140221/NEWS/140228759 . Please help to maintain the momentum by locating an image of anyone who has lived in town and worn a military uniform www.hcam.tv/veterans/slideshow.shtml . www.hcam.tv/veteransremember . Let us know if you are aware of a prospective guest. Visit the List of Links: www.hcam.tv/vets-links, and see a wide variety of veterans activities in Hopkinton.

All who are at the breakfast will be able to earn a fully-paid meal by correctly answering the monthly baseball quiz. Must attend! Here's an easy one. What Red Sox pitcher gave up the infamous Bucky Dent home run in 1978?

The Pledge of Allegiance and the blessing of our meal will be led by members of the American Legion McDonough-Carlberg Post 202.

See you Friday. Out.
