Dear Vets and Friends:

Good chow ... chipped beef ... it's here again at the Senior Center. Seasoned Vets, it seems, begin lining-up at first light for an 0900 hours mess. It's worth it! Come, and start the morning with good friends.

These sites are valuable records of Hopkinton's military history.

Tribute will be paid to comrades who passed-on during last month; those who are on "sick call" will be acknowledged. It will be a generous gesture to pay a visit to one or more of our ailing comrades.

Memories of military events that previously occurred on September 2nd will be shared. Other announcements will keep you current with veterans' activities in Hopkinton.

A free breakfast is available to anyone who correctly answers the monthly baseball quiz: Three MLers hit HRs as teenagers and after their 40th birthday. Ty Cobb and Gary Sheffield are two of them, who is the third?

Any veteran with transportation difficulties should call Amy Beck on/before 31 August 2016, 508 497-9730. Please encourage other Vets to attend the breakfast.

Amer. Legion McDonough-Carlberg Post 202 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and the blessing of the meal.

See you Friday. Out.
