Worcester, MA - Veterans Inc. will host the organization’s 21st Annual Best Ball Charity Golf Classic on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, MA. All proceeds will benefit veterans in need and their families at Veterans Inc.
The annual 18-hole golf classic will include a continental breakfast starting at 8:00 am with a 9:00 am shotgun start. Golfer registration consists of giveaways, green fees, golf cart, and a steak dinner. The tournament will include Hole-in-One contests sponsored by Sheldon’s Harley-Davidson of Auburn and Patrick Volkswagen of Auburn, a men’s and women’s longest drive, closest to the line, and closest to the pin contest. The deadline date for registration is April 25.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at many levels from major to hole sponsorships. Donations of raffle items are also being accepted, and all donation amounts are greatly appreciated and recognized. This year’s Gold Sponsor is The Home Depot. The tournament is Co-Chaired by State Representative John J. Mahoney and Mayor Joseph M. Petty of Worcester. The National Anthem will be sung by singer-songwriter Lyssa Coulter.
New this year is a golf ball drop contest, open to the public and you do not need to be present to win. For $25, anyone can purchase a numbered ball either online at veteransinc.org or at the tournament. The numbered balls are dropped from a high point on the course, and whoever’s ball is closest to the pin, wins 50% of the proceeds from the contest. The organization hopes to sell at least 350 or more!
“Each year, we design new ways at the golf tournament for donors to support the programs we offer to veterans in need and their families,” explained Lisa Bousbouras, Veterans Inc. Marketing and Communications Asst. Manager. “The golf ball drop contest is just another way for the community to give back and to serve our heroes.”
