On Sunday July 28th, Ashland Legion fell to Sandwich 2 to 1 on day 2 of the Legion Baseball State tournament at Fino Field in Milford. Despite a solid complete game effort from Owen Ward on the mound, Post 77 failed to get the bats going.

On Monday July 29th, Ashland responded with a 2 to 1 win which eliminated Somerset. A Jackson Hornung single in the bottom of the 5th drove in Nick Calabrese. Somerset tied the game in the top of the 6th with a run of their own. Rain struck towards the end of the top of the 6th and forced a 90 minute rain delay. After Cole Glassburn pitched his way out of a 2-on, 1 out jam, Jackson Hornung singled in the bottom of the 7th and drove in Kevin Balewicz for the walk-off run. Post 77 improves to 2 and 1 in state tournament play with the 2 to 1 win.

Ashland Post 77 next plays Tuesday, July 30th vs Lawrence at Fino Field in Milford, 7:30pm!
