Last April's Boston Marathon marked 50 years since the date Kathrine Switzer became the first official female runner to complete the Boston Marathon. Prior to Kathrine running the Marathon once again 50 years later, she was welcomed by town officials and Hopkinton High School and given honorary citizenship, gifts and citations from town officials. Kathrine ran the 2017 Boston Marathon with other members of her organization "Fearless 261" which she created with the goal of empowering woman through running.

This past Sunday Kathrine Switzer took the opportunity to thank town officials, police, fire, community members and the numerous others who helped her have a great experience during last April's Boston Marathon. View an interview and scenes from the event in the News Segment below.
