Video: Hillers Hockey Highlights VS Medway 1/11/2017

On Wednesday January 11th, the 2 top teams in the TVL, Hopkinton Hillers and the Medway Mustangs met at Navin Arena. Medway plays a division up from Hopkinton in the playoffs and defeated them in both meetings last season.. The Hillers entered the game trying to improve to 7 and 0 on the season.

Medway started the 1st period with a pair of goals, Andrew Diebus scored with 13:51 left and Ryan Norton with 1:13 left in the period. Medway led heading into the 2nd 2-0. The Hillers responded in the 2nd period with 3 goals of their own. Everett Rolph scored with 7:31 left off a great pass at the top of the circle, JH Vokey followed up with a wrist shot for a goal with 6:15 left from the left circle. Vokey struck again with 56.1 seconds left. Vokey placed himself on the right side just beneath the blue line and smashed a pass on a one-timer from Hunter Temple that landed in the left side of the net. The Hillers led 3-2 heading into the 3rd period.

Just over 2 minutes into the 3rd period, Owen Delaney placed himself in the low slot and scored on a deflection off the Medway Goaltender on a shot from Will Pickens. The Mustangs responded with 10:14 left as James Anderson scored to make it a 4-3 game. The Hillers secured control of the game with 7:14 left when Jack Sloan smashed it stick-side from the right circle for the final goal of the game. The Hopkinton Hillers took the 5-3 victory and improved to 7 and 0, Medway fell to 6 and 2 on the season. View the highlights below.
