Video: Hillers Sports Recap 1-25-2017

-On Wednesday January 18th, Hillers hockey looked to continue their winning ways against Ashland. Hillers got the 7-0 win against Ashland. Will Abbott scored 2 goals and had 2 assists, Owen Delaney knocked in a goal and had 2 assists and Tim McGrath had a nice day in net, earning the shutout. Hillers Boys Hockey improved to 8 wins 0 losses and 1 tie with the shutout victory.

-On Tuesday January 17th, Hillers boys basketball took on Westwood. Sophomore guard, Ben Mckenzie dropped 12 points while Senior Justin Blanchard added 11 points and had several rebounds. Hopkinton ended up with the huge 43-40 win to improve to 3 and 7 on the season.

-Next game the Hillers Boys took on Ashland on Friday January 20th. In the 1st quarter, the Hillers took advantage of a slumping Ashland offense and outscored them 15-11. The 2nd quarter was more back and forth as both teams knocked down 4 field goals. Ashland outscored Hopkinton
12-11. The Hillers led at half 26-18. In the 3rd quarter, the Hillers got the offense rolling. Brendan Kelly, Austin odell, Zack Sisitsky, Justin
Blanchard and Kyle Rector all chipped in for field goals as the Hillers outscored Ashland 19-11.

Ashland made a bit of a comeback in the 4th quarter, knocking down 4 3 point buckets but it was a little too late. The Hillers still manged to outscore Ashland in the quarter 21-20 and walked away with the 66-49 victory. The Hillers defeated Dover-Sherborn in the following game on Tuesday January 24th for their 3rd straight win and now stand at 5-7 on the season.

-In part 1 of the Girls-Boys doubleheader versus Ashland. Te Hillers girls were aiming for their 9th win of the season. Ashland led 12-9 about midway through the first. However, the Hillers ended the quarter on an 8 to 2 run and led 17-14 heading into the 2nd. Hopkinton continued the offensive momentum in the 2nd quarter and outscored the Clockers 13 to 5 to take a 30-19 lead into the halftime locker room.

Hopkinton started off the 3rd quarter red hot. the Hillers started off the quarter on a 16-0 run. In fact the only basket Ashland recorded in the 3rd was a buzzer beater 3 pointer. Hillers led 46-22 heading to the 4th.

The Hillers only put up 3 points in the 4th quarter but the defense took care of Ashland. Hopkinton grabbed the 49-32 victory and improved to 9-2 overall and 9-1 in tvl play. The Hillers girls officially clinched a playoff spot in their following game on Tuesday January 24th when they grabbed a 57-17 victory over Dover-Sherborn to improve their record to 10 and 2 on the season.
