Video: Hopkinton Hillers Boys Basketball Celebrates Senior Night with Win over Medfield

This past Friday it was a packed HHS Athletic Center as the Boys Basketball team celebrated Senior Night prior to their game with Medfield. All proceeds for the game were also donated to help Fight Cancer as part of the American Cancer Society, Coaches vs Cancer program.

Hopkinton Head Coach, Tom Keane spoke prior to the game and thanked the community of Hopkinton for all their support and also congratulated Medfield Head Coach, Herb Grace on recently getting his 400th career win. Coach Keane was diagnosed with colon cancer late last year and took a temporary leave of absence from the team during the season. He stated that the cancer was caught very early and that they were able to get rid of it. The Hopkinton-Medfield Coaches versus Cancer game raised $2,200 for Cancer Research.

The Hillers Seniors who were celebrated included: Steven Maffiore, Tommy Ambrosone, Ellis Spar, Drew Rancatore, Jacob Cohen, Ned Dean, Elan Rosen and Travis Finfrock.

In the game, the Hillers had one of their best offensive performances of the season. Hopkinton defeated Medfield 80 to 51 and improved to 10 and 7 on the season. The Hillers ended the 2nd half on a 21-0 run and led 44 to 13 at the halftime break. In the 2nd half, the Hillers kept pace with Medfield and took the game in convincing fashion. There were 12 different point scorers for the Hillers, Tommy Ambrosone led all scorers for the Hillers with 10 points while Elan Rosen contributed 6 points. The win also clinched a playoff spot for the Hillers.
