Video: Hopkinton Hillers Hockey Update 3-6-2019

On Thursday February 28th, the 11th seeded Hillers took on 6th seeded Bishop Stang in the 1st round of the playoffs. Tommy Hamblet netted a goal at 4:35 left in the 1st period to give the Hillers a 1-0 lead. Kyle Rogers made it 2-0 off a Hamblet assist in the 2nd period with 9:38 left. The Hillers added 2 more goals in the 3rd period. Kyle Rogers netted a goal at 7:28 left and Steve Simoes a few minutes later to secure the 4-0 win and advance on to the quarterfinals.

Hillers went on to the 2nd Round on Sunday March 3rd at Gallo Arena in Bourne and battled 3rd seeded North Quincy. Hillers took the game 3-0. Tommy Hamblet netted a goal with 4:23 left in the 3rd and then Steve Simoes and Sean Walsh added open net goals to secure the win. Goaltender Cole Thomas had 16 saves. Senior Goalie, Cole Thomas has 31 saves overall in the playoffs and has given up no goals. With the win, the Hillers advance to the D3 South Sectional Semi-Finals and will battle 10th seeded Coyle Cassidy on Thursday March 7th, 5:30pm at Gallo Arena in Bourne, MA. The winner of the semi-finals game will play the winner of 9th seeded Ashland and 4th seeded Bourne on Sunday March 10th at 3:15pm in the D3 South Sectional Finals.
