Video: Hopkinton Hillers Sports Update 2-21-2018

-Hopkinton Hillers Hockey took on East Longmeadow in their finally regular season game. It was another scoring-fest for the Hillers. Hopkinton took the 9-1 victory over East Longmeadow and finishes regular season play with 17 wins 2 losses and 1 tie. They will head to the Division 3 South Sectionals with a very high seed.

--In the Division 2 State Swimming finals on Sunday February 18th, Hopkinton finished 7th out of 24 teams in the 200 yard medley relay. The 4 Hillers in the relay included Grace Cavanaugh, Allison Fu, Andrea Wei and Rachel Zale. Andrea Wei finished 1st out of 30 in the 50 yard freestyle, she also fell just short of the 23.49 state record score with a 23.56. Mattie Stauss finished 4th out of 16 in the 1 meter dive, she recorded an overall score of 457.70. Andrea Wei also took the 100 yard butterfly title. In this event she grabbed the meet record with a 54.93. In the 100 yard freestyle. Grace Cavanaugh finished 10th out of 30. Abbi Fischer was 8th out of 25 in the 500 yard freestyle. Hopkinton was 2nd out of 24 in the 400 yard freestyle relay, the 4 for Hopkinton in the event included: Abbi Fischer, Ansley Worrell, Grave Cavanaugh and Andrea Wei. Hopkinton as a team finished 2nd place out of the 43 with a total score of 166. Duxbury took the title with a score of 323.

-On February 20th, the boys swim and dive division 2 state championships took place. Hopkinton's Jack Brennan finished 7th out 16 in the 1 meter dive and Alex Matsoukas took 7th out of 26 in the 100 yard backstroke. Hopkinton Boys overall finished 22nd out of 37 with a total score of 26.

-At the Indoor track and field all state meet on Monday February 19th: 55 Meter Hurdles: Caitlyn Halloran 13/24,1 Mile Run: Schuyler Gooley 6/24, 600 Meter Run: Caitlyn Halloran 10/24, 4X400 Meter Relay: Hopkinton 11/24, Boys 600 Meter Run: Nate Pucci 14/24, Boys 4X400 Meter Relay: Hopkinton 22/24.
