"The Relay For Life of Hopkinton (www.RelayForLife.org/HopkintonMA) is planning a fundraising campaign for “Giving Tuesday” – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving / Black Friday / Cyber Monday – this year on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Local volunteers will attempt to raise $37,000 in 37,000 seconds. The number holds a special significance because the American Cancer Society estimates that more than 37,000 people in Massachusetts will be newly diagnosed this year. It is nearly 10,000 more than the number of participants in the 2016 Boston Marathon, and roughly equivalent to one Sox fan for every seat at Fenway Park."
