HCAM News is looking for a part-time reporter(s) to cover local Hopkinton news, including local government news and meetings, community events, school sports and any other relevant local happening.
Position includes collecting and analyzing information about newsworthy events to write news stories for publication on our website www. hcam.tv and/or for broadcast on our half-hour TV news program.
• Receives assignment or evaluates news leads and news tips to develop story ideas.
• Ability to gather and verify factual information through interview, observation and research.
• May take photographs or shoot video to illustrate stories.
• May edit, or assist in editing, videos for broadcast.
• May appear on television newscast when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration.
Good writing skills, the ability to work independently, and an interest in local community events are required.
