A Scavenger Hunt, a Virtual Run to $5K, and a Costume Contest this Halloween in Hopkinton

(September 29, 2020 – Hopkinton, MA) — Bring out the costumes this Halloween as the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) and its resident theater company Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) announce a free community-wide scavenger hunt and a “virtual run to $5K.”

Participants who register to “race” can choose to run, walk, or just help fundraise to keep all the programs at the HCA up and running. All events take place on Halloween, Saturday, October 31. Everyone is invited to join the costume contest by tagging a photo of themselves with the hashtag #wickedrun on Facebook or Instagram. Special thanks to Unibank for being the premier event sponsor. Registration forms for the scavenger hunt and links to join our fundraising team can be found at www.hopartscenter.org.

The Scavenger Hunt is free and open to all who want to join. Participants simply need to register by 5pm on October 30. A list of spots, representing local businesses, town landmarks, and one or two spooky locations in Hopkinton, will be emailed out at 6pm the night before. The hunt begins on Saturday, October 31 at 10am and ends at 2pm. Once completed, participants should bring selfies of themselves at each location to the HCA, 98 Hayden Rowe St., where they will receive a bag of treats and be entered to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card.

Those who register to join the virtual 5K, can run, walk, or dance around in costume on the day of the event. Due COVID-19 restrictions there is no set race course, participants may set their own course. They can run circles in their backyard, on a familiar running path, or through their neighborhoods. Or they can opt to not run and still participate as a fundraiser for the event. Everyone who raises $250 will be entered to win a pair of Apple Airpod Pros. This event is open to racers of all ages and families of all sizes are encouraged to get out in costume and race together.

All funds raised will go to help support the mission and programs of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, a non-profit community arts organization that works to create a place for people of all ages and abilities to study, enjoy, and participate in the visual and performing arts under one roof.

HCA annually offers over 200 classes to more than 2,000 students. In 2015, the HCA opened its expanded arts center, with newly renovated classrooms, a 200-seat performance space, and gallery spaces. HCA proudly presents over 50 productions and exhibitions a year to audiences from all over Massachusetts that showcases talented local and national artists.

Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) brings community and theater together to inspire, connect, and transform. In addition to providing quality theater education for people of all ages, ESL produces up to 12 productions every year. Each season brings a wide-array of theater options to local MetroWest audiences looking for a great affordable theater experience.
