William J. McRobert, 74, died Monday, July 28, 2014 after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary M. (Kearnan) McRobert, to whom he was married for 50 years. Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Philip and Esther (Hoey) McRobert.
He was a 1958 graduate of Hopkinton High School.and served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1964 he became an officer for the Hopkinton Police Department and he remained there, retiring as Chief in January 1999.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Cynthia Correia of Hopkinton and his son Jeffrey McRobert and wife Rachael of Woodstock, GA. He also leaves five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition, he leaves his sisters Gail Belmore of Milford, Judith McCommis of Bellingham and Janet MacKay of Hopkinton; and his brother Philip McRobert and his wife Donna of Hopkinton.
A funeral mass will be held Friday August 1, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for procession to the church.
A burial with full military honors will be Friday August 1, 2014 at St. John's Cemetery
