Today Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for State Representative in the Eighth Middlesex District, announced that he has received the endorsement of the Worcester Telegram. The paper called him the candidate of "balance."

"I am pleased they have recognized that I will fight the status quo at the State House and work to restore balance which the incumbent has failed to do," said Lamb.

Lamb believes he received the endorsement because he has plans to revive the economy and restore integrity to the State House. Moreover, the incumbent's record includes voting 95.37% with the Speaker of the House. During the House Rules debate where transparency issues are voted upon, the incumbent voted 100% with the Speaker.

"It is time to end the legislative exemption from the open meeting and open records law. It is time to put committee votes online. And it is time for a nonpartisan ethics committee. These are all common sense reforms I support and the incumbent has not," said Lamb.

Lamb has also pledged not to raise taxes while the incumbent is committed to raising the gas tax.

Over the past several weeks Lamb's campaign has gained important support. State Representative Steve Levy has endorsed him. When elected, Lamb and Levy will work together to represent Westborough.

Citizens for Limited Taxation and the National Federation of Independent Business have also endorsed Lamb.

"I will work to get things done not just attend meetings," added Lamb.
