Hopkinton Women's Club Scholarship Recipients

The Hopkinton Women’s Club has awarded almost $300,000 in scholarships over the past two decades to students at the Hopkinton High School.
We wish to congratulate this year’s recipients: Riley Delany, Aditya Dutta, Alexander Fomin, Nicholas Igartua, Alannah Miller,
Megan Murchie, Charlie Nealon, Lucas Nealon, Courtney Olafsen, Mirabella Paolucci, Elana Regan, Eleri Schutte, Geneva Sganga, Alopa Waje, and Mohammad Zaidi. Also Catharine Barry received the Mary McDonough Community Service Award!

Heavey, Marilyn M. “Mandy” (Moore), 83

Heavey, Marilyn M. “Mandy” (Moore) – Of Danvers, formerly of Natick, passed away on Thursday, June 10th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in San Diego on June 11, 1938, Mandy lived in many places as her family moved with her Navy father from base to base, including Japan, Alaska, Texas, California and Florida. Mandy lived many years in Natick where she was an active member of the community including as a CCD teacher for multiple years.

John K, "Jack" Sweet, Jr., 85

John K, "Jack" Sweet, Jr., 85, passed peacefully on June 10, 2021 at his home in Hopkinton with his family by his side. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late John K. (Sr.) and Cora (MacKay) Sweet. He was the husband of Catherine M. (Kenney) Sweet, to whom he was married for 55 years.

Water and Sewer Rate Hearing Public Notice

The Select Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 11, 2021 at 7:35 p.m., at Town Hall, 18 Main Street, Hopkinton, to set Sewer and Water Rates for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, pursuant to the Special Act establishing the Department of Public Works.

A copy of the proposed Water and Sewer Rates for FY22 is available for review at the Hopkinton DPW during regular office hours or by calling DPW Director John Westerling at (508) 497-9740.
