Hopkinton High School Student Eva Bennet Receives Award at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair

Eva Bennet, a 9th grader at Hopkinton High School, was awarded a Fourth Award in Translational Medical Science category, for her project, “Development of an innovative, alternative model for teratogenicity testing”.

She earned the opportunity to compete at the Regeneron ISEF after winning first place at the regional level and second place at the state level.

Senate Overrides Governor’s Veto on COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave

Today, the Massachusetts State Senate gave final legislative approval to a bill to guarantee COVID emergency paid leave to workers, as well as avoid drastic unemployment insurance rate increases paid by employers. The bill was back before the Legislature this week after having been returned by the Governor with an amendment.

What is happening?

MassDOT is replacing bridges on I-90 east and westbound over Flanders Road in Westborough and Parkerville Road, Cordaville Road, and Woodland Road in Southborough as part of this project. The replacement of the eight bridges (2 spans per local road) will take place over eight weekends between June 18 and August 16, 2021.

Nathaniel L. "Nate" Labreche, 31

Nathaniel L. "Nate" Labreche, 31, of Burlington, MA, passed away suddenly at his home on May 22, 2021. Nate was the beloved son of Lisa E. Poitrast and the late Laurence M. Labreche. He is survived by his sister, Emily E. Poitrast; his stepdad, Stephen C. Poitrast; and his longtime love, Michelle D. Pacifico. He was adored by all of his aunts, uncles and cousins. Nate grew up in Hopkinton, MA and graduated from Hopkinton High School in 2008 and from Framingham State College in 2013.

Timothy E. Lynch, 59, a longtime resident of Hopkinton, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, after a long illness. Born in Framingham on September 23, 1961, he was the son of C. Patrick Lynch of Hopkinton and the late Rosemary (Briggs) Lynch.
