Video: School Superintendent, Dr Carol Cavanaugh updates about Hopkinton Public Schools Public Hearing

On Thursday December 5th, a Hopkinton Public Schools Public Hearing will take place at Hopkinton High School from 6 until 7pm. Topics will include Enrollment, Physical Plant Needs, 10-year Build-Out Plan and Impact of construction on academic programming. There is also an opportunity for those planning on to attend to view the newly renovated space at the White House building at 4pm.

HCAM to Host Downtown Corridor Project Forum, Monday December 2nd

On Monday December 2nd at 7pm, HCAM will host a Downtown Corridor Project forum at the HCAM studios (77 Main Street). The program will air live on HCAM-TV and concentrate on discussion about the proposed project in preparation for the upcoming Special Town Meeting on December 9th.

The forum will feature a panel of those who are for the project and also members of a group called the Main Street Alliance, who is opposed to the project.

Last night, the Select Board asked staff to share the attached history of the Main Street Corridor Project outreach and public input efforts.

From its beginnings in 2003 with the Voices for Vision Brainstorming Session and the creation of the Downtown Revitalization Committee, what is now the Main Street Corridor Project has gone through many revisions and changes over the years as it now approaches a final solution.

Joel V. Rice, 60, of Warwick, MA, formerly of Woodville, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of Alden and Dorenda (Stewart) Rice.
Joel graduated with high honors from Keefe Regional Technical School in Framingham, MA, and was an avid top-notch machinist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, many vacations to Ogunquit Beach, and his dog Jake.

Video: Select Board Approves Treasurer Appointment and Special Town Meeting Update

The Select Board approved Town Managers, Norman Khumalo appointment of Christopher Heymanns as Treasurer/Collector for the Town. The Town Manager also provided an update on the proposed articles for the upcoming Special Town Meeting. The Special Town Meeting will take place on Monday, December 9th at 7pm.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton November 11th-17th was 52.5 degrees, the lowest was 15.1 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 30.9 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 65%, the peak was 97% while the lowest was 20%. Rain accumulated 0.07 inches last week in Hopkinton.
