Eleanor Ularich, 97

Eleanor R. Ularich, 97, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at her home in Hopkinton .

She was the wife of the late Anthony V. Ularich, who died in 2006. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose (Porte) Balboni.

Eleanor worked for many years as a clerk at National Distributors. She enjoyed spending time at the Hopkinton Senior Center and especially loved Hopkinton's summertime concerts on the common, where she could often be seen dancing to every song.

Senate Passes Pharmaceutical Access, Costs and Transparency (PACT) Act

BOSTON – Today, the Massachusetts Senate passed An Act relative to Pharmaceutical Access, Costs and Transparency (PACT Act), comprehensive pharmaceutical cost control legislation aimed at addressing the high and rapidly increasing costs of prescription drugs. By connecting the need for greater drug price transparency with policies to improve oversight over the pharmaceutical industry, the legislation will put Massachusetts at the forefront of the state’s efforts to tackle increasing drug costs. It will also reduce drug costs to patients and lower health care costs overall.

Little did we know back in 2010 that town officials already had a fate accomplished in mind with their premature submission of the 25% plan in order to establish Hopkinton`s place in the state funding queue for the Downtown Improvement project. The current level of Select Board grumbling over the Main Street Alliance`s successful Citizen`s Petition for a Special Town Meeting on December 9, reflects their frustration that another side of this story is finally being heard.
