Community Notice: Be A Fighter, Fight The Flu

Flu season is upon us and the Hopkinton Health Department has partnered with AFC Urgent Care of Natick and Marlborough to provide two flu vaccination clinics to the residents and employees of Hopkinton. The clinics will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Crafts Room of the Senior Center located at 28 Mayhew Street, on October 21, 2019. A second clinic will run at St. John’s on October 25, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Community Notice: Hopkinton ZAC Public Forum Rescheduled to November 7th 7pm

The Hopkinton Zoning Advisory Committee is holding a public forum on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00 PM in Room 215/216 at Town Hall. The purpose of this forum is to hear ideas and proposals for desired changes to the Zoning Bylaw and/or the Zoning Map. Zoning bylaws generally regulate the use of land, buildings and structures. This is an opportunity to propose changes to the land uses permitted in specific areas in Hopkinton, the manner in which certain uses are permitted, dimensional requirements, or other ideas with respect to land use regulation.

The public is invited to join us on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:00 PM in the Hopkinton High School Cafeteria. Come see what the Growth Committee has been up to this fall. We’ve learned a lot and are eager to hear from residents. At the workshop we'll share what we’ve learned so far and what the data is telling us, as well as 5 Common myths about growth in Hopkinton. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your ideas to help us more forward with our work. The Growth Study Committee is a new sub-committee of the Planning Board this year. Hiller's Dig Pink Fundraiser

The Hiller Volleyball Teams are excited to be part of The Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink initiative for the 10th consecutive year, and they need your help to make their campaign successful! They believe education is key to increasing knowledge about breast cancer and fundraising is essential to support further research. Funds raised for Side-Out go toward a clinical trial specifically for patients with stage 4 breast cancer, the most advanced form of the disease and the least funded area of research.

Ruth M. VanFossen, 69, of Holliston, passed away October 17th while surrounded by the eternal love of her family at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Melia) and Arthur F. Kelley. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to Thomas Richard VanFossen Jr. of Holliston, MA.
