Weather Trends in Hopkinton: April 1st-7th 2019

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton April 1st through 7th was 53.7 degrees, the lowest was 21.4 degrees. Average temperature during the month in Hopkinton was 37.4 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 61.5%, the peak was 96% while the lowest was 23%. Wind Speed averaged 2.4 MPH, while reaching a high of 11 MPH. Rain accumulated 0.56 inches last week in Hopkinton. Video: 2019 Hopkinton Hillers Softball Preview

Last season, Hillers Softball finished 13 and 8 overall, 1 and 1 in the playoffs. This year they have some great experience returning to the roster including Captains, Emily Whelan and Katy Holly. The Hillers have a new yet familiar face at Head Coach this year in Shannon Allberry. Allberry has a wide array of experience with the Hiller program and coached the JV team last season.

Hopkinton High School Jazz Ensembles to perform Wednesday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m.

This concert will be held in the High School Auditorium at 90 Hayden Rowe Street. Come out to hear some great jazz music including a performance by the High School Jazz Ensemble that earned Gold at the recent Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education (MAJE) State Festival! This ensemble is also tentatively scheduled to perform in the Gold Medal Showcase Concert at the Boston Hatch Shell on Sunday, May 19th!

Fire Flow Testing Wednesday April 10th at 9:30am

Please be advised that a required fire flow test will take place Wednesday, April 10th, at approximately 9:30 AM. Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check you water before using it. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes after the test is complete.

Saturday, April 13, 1PM: Ashland State Park walk. A 3 mile loop around the reservoir (with an option to bail out halfway). We'll start at the boat ramp on Spring Street in Ashland.

Saturday, April 27: Massachusetts Park Serve Day. A great chance to give back to the parks we love to use.

Video: Hopkinton Hillers Boys & Girls Lacrosse Previews

Last season both the Hopkinton Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams made the playoffs. The Boys team finished 11 and 8 and fell in the 1st round to Medfield in the post season while the Girls went 11 and 9 overall and 1 and 1 in playoff action.

In the below video, HCAM news caught up with Boys Head Coach, Dan Norton and this years captains: Luke MacDonald, Zach Frank and Dan Sage. We also talked with Girls Head Coach, Katelyn Barry and Captains, Sydney MacDonald and Lydia Rudden.
