Celebrate 1st Night of Hanukkah at Hopkinton Town Common Dec 2nd

Please join us on the first night of Hanukkah to celebrate the lighting of the Hopkinton Town Menorah!

We'll celebrate with some songs and prayers to light the Menorah. There will be hot chocolate and Hanukkah Gelt for the kids.

All are welcome and please help us spread the word.

Video: Hillers Girls Soccer Advances to State Championship

On Monday November 12th, Hopkinton Hillers Girls Soccer gave another great defensive effort as they took down Notre Dame (Hingham) in the Division 2 South Sectional Finals 1-0. Alli Bird scored the only goal of the game as great defensive play allowed the Hillers to move on. Hopkinton will next play in the State Championship versus North Champion, Winchester at Xaverian HS 12:30pm on Saturday November 17th.

Agnes (McIntyre) “Gram” Penney, 97

Agnes (McIntyre) “Gram” Penney, 97, died November 10, 2018 at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center with family by her side. She was the widow of the late Richard "Joe" Penney, who died in 2000. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Wilcox) McIntyre.

She attended Hopkinton High School and spent her life there, raising four children with her husband.

Zoning Advisory Committee Public Hearing on Monday

The Zoning Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on Monday,
November 26, 2018 at 7:00 PM in Room 215/216 of the Town Hall, at which
time it would like to hear ideas and proposals for changes to the Zoning Bylaw
and/or the Zoning Map. Zoning bylaws generally regulate the use of land,
buildings and structures. This is an opportunity to propose changes to the land
uses permitted in specific areas in Hopkinton, the manner in which certain uses are
permitted, dimensional requirements, or other ideas with respect to land use

Wednesday November 14th was National Commitment day for soon to be College Athletes. Several Hillers signed letters of intent to play at the collegiate level next year. Hiller Athletes who signed letters of intent include: Abigail Jaye - Golf (Stonehill College), Brianna Tocco - Swimming & Dive (URI), Gabrielle Weilding - Soccer (Umass Lowell), Emily Whelan - Softball (Umass Amherst), Kaitlyn Holly - Softball (Manhattan College), Natalie Calkins - Lacrosse (Merrimack College), Lydia Rudden - Lacrosse (Stonehill College).

5th Annual Shopping for a Cause Sunday December 2nd 3-6pm at HCA

The 5th annual Shopping for a Cause is on Sunday December 2nd from 3-6 at the HCA, benefiting the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA). In celebration of the 5th year of this event tickets/donations are only $5 per person.

Average temperature during the month in Hopkinton was 46.2 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 79.2%, the peak was 98% while the lowest was 36%. Wind Speed averaged 2.2 MPH, while reaching a high of 10 MPH. Rain accumulated 3.3 inches last week in Hopkinton. Tickets on Sale for Christmas (and a little bit more) Concert with Grammy-Nominated Songwriter David Jeremiah Mullins

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) presents
David Jeremiah Mullins, a Hopkinton native and Grammy-nominated songwriter, in concert on
Sunday, November 24. His concert ‘Simply Christmas (and a little bit more)’, which sold out last
year, will include Christmas standards and original and popular tunes. The concert starts at 7:30
p.m. at the HCA, 98 Hayden Rowe St. Hopkinton. Tickets are $22 for adult and $18 for seniors
