Poetic Lines
Weekly Schedule | First Airing | Second Airing | Third Airing | Fourth Airing |
Poetic Lines | Monday, 9:30 PM | Tuesday, 4:30 AM | Tuesday, 1:00 PM | Wednesday, 1:00 AM |
Sometimes you hear a poem and think, “That was fabulous. I wonder what inspired it?” Or you may be curious about the poet’s creative process and why he or she is so passionate about this ancient art form. Poetic Lines is a half-hour show that asks those questions and explores how poetry can change one’s perceptions and enhance one’s life.
Some of our guests have appeared on Wake Up and Smell the Poetry, or will soon. Others travel from as far as New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to share their insights with the HCAM audience.
Whether you’re a dedicated writer or someone who just wants to learn a bit more about the genre, Poetic Lines welcomes you to listen in on some thoughtful, engaging conversations between acclaimed poets and the show’s host, Elizabeth Lund.
Elizabeth writes a monthly poetry column for The Washington Post. She also reviews regularly for The Christian Science Monitor, where she served as poetry editor for 10 years. In 2008, she began taping Poetic Lines.
“I’m always inspired by what my guests share,” says Elizabeth. “Their comments make me feel more alert and alive. I’m sure you’ll have the same reaction.”
