26.2 Foundation Continues Support for Hopkinton's Schools

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

In 2006, the 26.2 Foundation, then known as the Hopkinton Athletic Association, spearheaded the funding, design, and construction of new bleachers for the Hopkinton High School athletic field. Collectively, the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) and the 26.2 Foundation donated $350,00 to fund this project that is now enjoyed by the students and families of Hopkinton. Since 2006 and for a total period of 10 years, the 26.2 Foundation will make its $10,000 payment to the Hopkinton Public Schools while the B.A.A. contributes its portion in payments of $25,000 per year.

26.2 Foundation Executive Director Tim Kilduff presented this year's contribution in person to the School Committee at their meeting on September 12, 2013. Watch the HCAM News video as Kilduff delivers the check and talks about future plans to continue the unique relationship between the 26.2 Foundation, the B.A.A. and the Boston Marathon, and the Hopkinton Public Schools.
