First Weekend in May in Hopkinton

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

The first weekend in May was another busy weekend in Hopkinton, including several events sponsored by the HPTA. Many 5th graders showed off their performance skills at a talent show Friday night at the Middle School, in honor of Allison Lundy, a 5th grade student who lost her battle with brain cancer earlier this year. All of the money raised from the event will go to pediatric brain tumor research at Dana Farber.

On Saturday, the HPTA also hosted their 4th Annual Hop Swap at the High School. HCAM volunteers Tom and Amanda Dings were on sight to capture the action at the event, which raises money for the schools, by selling donated children's items such as clothing and toys.

Also on Saturday, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team held a carwash at J.C. Parmenter's to raise money for the team. And the Hopkinton Center for the Arts hosted their first Spring Arts Festival which featured live music, drama, and dance performances, as well as over 60 vendors.

Watch the HCAM News video for highlights from all events.
