Hopkinton Girl Scout Troop needs your help!

By Jim Cozzens, Station Director

Second grade Girl Scout troop #89242 is working on a service learning project to support African refugee children in Worcester and would like your help. The African Community Education program has told the troop about their needs and the scouts will be conducting a collection. The troop is collecting Walmart gift cards, packaged cookies, headphones, backpacks, and school supplies. Items can be new or used and the age target is 10-18.

The troop will also be collecting letters of welcome and acceptance to the refugees. Those should not be sealed and should be addressed, "Dear Friend".

The collection will occur May 30-June 2 at Angel's Garden Center, Middlesex Savings Bank, and the Hopkinton Public Library (as well as some school sites for students). For more information about African refugee children in Worcester, see http://acechildren.org.
