Hopkinton Students and the Million Misfit Sock March

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

Throughout October, Hopkinton students of all ages have been recognizing Anti-bullying month. To culminate this lesson, students in several schools, including Elmwood, partook in the Million Misfit Sock March on the 25th by wearing mismatched socks to school. The goal of the day is to show that differences should be celebrated, not made fun of and that everyone has qualities that make them unique.

In Jill Jenkinson's second grade class, students participated in an activity where they made their own stuffed sock and then wrote about what made it special.

The event was brought to the Hopkinton schools due to the efforts of the Hopkinton Girl Scouts.
