Join the History Book Club at the Library

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

The History Book Club, run by Adult Services Librarian Susan Marshall, meets once a month at the library and gives patrons the opportunity to discuss books about a particular historical figure and/or event. This month's topic was all about the Boston Marathon. Participants had the option to read a handful of marathon related books, including "Running With Pheidippides: Stylianos Kyriakides, the Miracle Marathoner", which chronicles the Greek runner's journey of competing in the Boston Marathon to uplift the spirits of his war-torn country.

Next month's history book club meets on April 19th at 10:30AM, where Steven Puleo's book about the 1919 Boston molasses flood "The Dark Tide" will be discussed. The discussion is a prelude to when Puleo will present his book at a library program in May.
